The Department is focusing on three major R&D thrust areas besides the regular Under Graduate Program, namely, Intra-campus Wireless Communication System, Semi-conductor Device Fabrication and Simulation, and Microprocessor Based Industrial Automation and Design. Semiconductor Fabrication Lab and Microprocessor Lab have already been commissioned. Most of the equipment in both these labs have been developed in-house with completely indigenous technology. These labs provide hands-on exposure to the undergraduate students besides the normal curriculum. Planning on industrial automation as well as work of robotics has already started.
