Industrial Interaction

Better interaction between Technical Institutions and Industry is the need of the hour. This aspect has great bearing on the Engineering Curriculum, exposure of industrial atmosphere to engineering students and subsequent placement of young graduate engineers in industries across the country. With the advent of globalization and opening up of the Indian economy to outside world, competition among industries has become tough. To resolve their engineering problems they look up to the Engineering Institutions. Similarly, there is an urgent need to prepare engineering students to be entrepreneurs, by introducing them to newer technologies and engineering methodologies. These objectives can only be achieved well by bridging the gap between industry and the academic institute. Keeping this in mind, every week regular interaction with Industry Resource Persons from various diverse fields in each department takes place to develop Entrepreneurship among the students. The students are introduced to practical hand on experience and encouraged to take up the small projects with their application in real world. Results of this interaction are very increasing. Students look forward to these sessions every week as this interaction makes them familiar with industry needs and help them to be ready for being a part of the industry in future days. Sh. CAMPUS CONNECT (CC) PROGRAM FROM INFOSYS LTD.

This program was launched by Infosys in May 2004; it is a unique academia-industry initiative to “architect the education experience”. The main concern of IT Companies has been that fresh recruits from engineering colleges are not industry ready. To bridge the gap between academia and industry, the Campus Connect Program was started in collaboration with selected Engineering and Management colleges. The goal of this program is to build a sustainable partnership with engineering educational institutions in India and abroad for mutual benefit; producing “industry ready” recruits.

This program is launched with the objective to enhance the quality and quantity of the IT talent-pool and sustain the growth of the IT industry. At present, program’s main motive is to increase the employability of students. Various predictions on the internet show that by the year 2040, Asia, especially the Indian subcontinent will have the maximum number of working professionals in the world. It shows that there are huge possibilities and opportunities for our students in the competitive world. The future looks bright and promising and we need to work towards it.

During the The Campus Connect Program, Infosys shares with us its mature technology training methods, course ware, student project samples and other learning resources that have been developed, practiced and perfected over the last 16 years at their world renowned training campus at Mysore (Karnataka).

Keeping the current placement scenario in mind, Ambala College of Engineering & Applied Research had signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Infosys in the year 2011. In the state of Haryana only few Colleges have been recognized and are partners with Infosys Campus Connect Program and ACE is one of them. 8 batches of students from CSE, ME, BT and ECE have been certified in various courses from Infosys so far. The students have covered all the variants of Foundation Programs (FP) starting from FP 3.0, FP 3.1 to FP 4.0.Recently FP 5.0 with Mode 1 and Mode 2 is started for students. Using Phython Language Faculty members of ACE have been trained by Infosys on the latest technologies at various “Teach The Trainer” programs conducted by Infosys at different Development Centres (DC). The ACE faculty members have done well and have won the gold, silver and bronze medals in ‘Inspire program’ organized by Infosys at the national level. The aim of Campus Connect Program is being achieved by bridging the gap between Industry-Academia and preparing industry ready professionals and hence they accelerate the growth of the company they are associated with.
